The best way to get a cache moved or removed is to contact the owner. Sign up for a free account on Geocaching.com, look up the cache using your home address and send a message to the person who placed the cache outlining your concerns. In most cases people are happy to archive (remove) or relocate a cache if people who live nearby have concerns.

As much as I love the idea of this new fad. I just learned today what it is all about, but I have to say after learning from some kids roaming thru the woods behind my house that their coordinates suggested a hidden cache near my house. I have some elderly neighbors living by me and I know for a fact that they will be calling the police if they continue to see kids in the woods. Unfortunately we have homeless people using these woods as homes now so we try and keep unfamiliar people out by contacting the police when someone is spotted. How does this possible cache get moved away from this area? These kids looking today never did find anything.

So far my favorite hide was so simple to make but very tough to find. The Cacher cut a black ink pen in half, put the black cap over the now shortened hollow ink pen tube. He then stuck down in a ground in the middle of an old unused black cinder school track so just the tip of the black cap (1/2 cm.) was exposed. So simple, so cheap, so easy to make and so very nasty. Many people said it was gone.... But he would just reply with a LOL.

So one day, I was walking down the street when I had found something. I thought it was a piece of garabage but I found out it was a geocaches! That's when I started geocaching with my family. This story is about one of the Leathermans Caches in the Bedford, NY. I had driven up Dwight Lane when I found Leathermans ridge park. I had been searching for the cave since the start, but now I have found it. I went inside. It was really dark, almost like the night. I had my headlight on and searched the cave. I realized that it would be obvious to be in the cave. The cache wasn't in there! Then, I followed the clue which was " Six paces due west from stump". Then I realized there is a million tree stumps in the park. I thought I would never find it. Then, I found a stump close to the cave. Like the clue, it was steep to go west but I made it and found the cache. This was with a friend so it was sort of a milestone for him. We found the cache, placed geocoins in and went down. Problem was, there was a million thorn bushes. It was hard but we made it safely down and went home. That's my Geocaching Adventure.

I really enjoy wooden puzzles (basically fancy jigsaw puzzles). I have not done this, so maybe this could be a challenge for someone, but I thought a real fun activity would be to have 1 puzzle piece at each clue/cache location. Once you had the entire puzzle put together (say 15 pieces or so) you would have a clue to find the "final" cache. So basically a puzzle within a puzzle. I don't have the time to do this, but thought I would post this and maybe someone would be able to run with the idea!

Several Years ago, I hunted a cache (I don't want to give anything away as it is still active.). The person took some letters that means something with the name of the cache and put it in the clue. When decoded, obviously three letters appear. The owner then gave a date that was relevant to the name. When I went to the site, I found a Transformer amongst a bunch of shrubs, trees, and lampposts. I immediately saw why the owner named the cache and date the way it was. I had to chuckle, because the Maintenance tag for the transformer was identical to the coded letters with the date.

I spent visit after visit searching the trees, shrubs, and lamppost for the micro. Finally, in frustration I decided to carefully peel of the transformers maintenance tag. It popped right off, and it turned out it was a flat sheet magnet. On one side was the letters and date. On the other was the log.
