Tip of the Day 10/18:Travel Bug

In this Geo-Jargon Monday,we’d like to tell you what a “travel bug”is.

A travel bug is…

An item that travels from cache to cache. Each item has a unique tracking number (assigned by Geocaching.com),which allows you to follow its journey. A travel bug is not a trade item, and you are not required to leave anything in the cache when you pick up a travel bug, although you are expected to place it in a different cache in a reasonable amount of time. Some travel bugs may have a specific goal, such as to reach a certain location. If a bug has a goal, and you are unable to help it reach that goal, even in a small way,it is customary that you leave it for someone else who can assist in that goal.
