Tip of the Day 8/16:Preform

In our third Geo-Jargon Monday,we’d like to tell you what a “preform” is.

A preform is…

A micro container resembling a wide test-tube,made of transparent plastic (usually clear, but sometimes tinted) with a screw-on cap. Preforms are actually the “blanks”that are heated and blown into a form to create soda bottles. They are very durable and waterproof, making them a good choice for a micro-sized cache container. The main downside to preforms is that they generally have to be purchased in bulk quantities, rather than individually.

But we’re here to help! You can buy a set of 5 preforms from us for $15 plus S&H. They’re terrific containers!

—————————-

You can buy preforms from us or you can search Google’s Shopping feature for “soda bottle preforms”for places to purchase the containers.

Thanks to Prime Suspect and his GeoLex,the Lexicon for Geocaching, for the use of these fantastic definitions of all things geocaching!
