Always re-hide a cache in the same manner you found it. Small changes in covering or camouflage can elevate a difficulty 1 to a difficulty 3 in no time.
On the other hand,if a cache is out in the open and you’ve been searching for a difficulty 3,it could probably benefit from a little extra care in hiding it. Make sure you note in your log that you’ve hidden it better,so that the owner and the next person looking for it have that valuable information.
Owners can choose to receive every log for each cache they own as an email,and most owners keep pretty good track of which of their caches is falling into plain sight regularly. So these logs really help caches from being stolen.
