Looking to Interview Puzzle and Extreme Cachers

We’re in the home stretch of Joy of Geocaching (it’s due to the publisher June 15) and we still need to conduct some interviews. We’d like to speak to a couple of avid creators of puzzle caches about what you love about puzzles, what are some of your most memorable hides and how you think through the process of creating great puzzles.

We’d also like to speak to an extreme geocacher, someone who revels in 5/5 challenges. We’ve already had great interviews with linuxxpert and keoki_eme about extreme caching, but we’d like to hear from one other person, preferably in the Midwest or on the west coast of the US.

Please comment here or e-mail paul@joyofgeocaching.com. Thanks!

I created the Mid-Atlantic major puzzle challenge. PMC (Puzzle Masters Challenge). It basically consists of 17 Puzzle Masters from NYC to MD that created extremely challenging puzzle caches. Each hold a clue to my final. I am presently working on a sequel. The ID for the main challenge is GCZZZZ. And there are links to each other puzzle on the page.

Dutch (linuxxpert) is a friend of mine and we are going to be tackling the ultimate extreme cache (Psycho Urban Cache #13). I love extreme caches and am a rappeller and caver and am starting to ascend more. I have done swamp caches and two ultimate challenges (Choreographed Chaos and Cerebral Codex) and many extreme caches.

I would be interested in answering some questions or writing something for you guys if you’d like.

I have a blog you can look at if you’d like. It is at http://geogipsie.blogspot.com. Most of my extreme stuff doesn’t involve caching because of the lack of areas to climb down here, but I have taken to travelling and will be getting many more, including Dutch’s two pillar caches in the near future. And a couple of rappelling caches in upstate NY.
