What Software Should We Check Out?

We want to be sure we provide guidance on the best geocaching software applications.  We have an extensive guide to GSAK,an overview of Google Earth and a shorter review of GeoBuddy.  We also intend to try the geocaching.com client for the iPhone.

What are we missing?  What are the popular and useful geocaching applications that aren’t listed here that we should get hold of?

    CacheMate
This one is for PDAs,it’s supposed to help with “paperless”caching.

    It’s Not About the Numberswebsite
This one is for caching statistics, for those more avid cachers.

  • GSAK,for sure. On my Blackberry,I use Trimble’s Geocache Navigator. There is also an iPhone app. Nice thing about these mobile apps is that you can go paperless.

I have a few favorites that I use every time I go caching.

1st and foremost is Geocaching.com. With Geocaching.com I can download caches directly into my Colorado and Nuvi. This is not the quickest, but for grabbing a few it is nice.

2nd is GSAK. I know I only scratch the surface with this software,It is almost a necessity for paperless caching. I use it with the Colorado for large downloads. The same goes with my Nuvi,I also use it to make tour gide so I can go completely paperless.

3rd is for my cell phone. It is GZc. Another free program that is Windows Mobile based. It will look at your Geocaching account, and give you a listing of all the caches you haven’t found yet.

Lastly is Google Earth. I try to look at all the caches I am going after so I have an idea of where to park. To many times have I done some nasty bushwhacking just to find a parking lot ten feet away from the cache.

There are many others I use,but this is the short list.

    Cache On.
